about me

Guangzhou, China

I was born here in 2004. At the age of 3, it is assumed I was sent to an orphanage; A year later, I was adopted by my American parents.

Yokosuka, Japan

Many of my formative years were spent in Japan which gave me experiences I will always be grateful for. My parents- my mother especially- were very good about giving my sister and I a holistic education as they homeschooled us. Over the years, we visited countless museums, temples, and gardens, as well as celebrated at many festivals and parades. Japanese culture puts such an emphasis on art and the peaceful appreciation of life, whether it be zen gardens, ikebana displays, food presentation, or firework shows- you are always surrounded by beauty, no matter if it is "mundane." Even now, it's been years since I lived there, but I always find myself looking for a piece of home wherever I am.

Cincinnati, Ohio

In my early teens, my father retired from the military and we moved to Ohio, closer to family. This is where I first started going to public school and got the opportunity to take painting, drawing, and ceramic classes.
